Court Bars Keyamo From Prosecuting Fani-Kayode Over Alleged N500 Million Fraud

A Federal High Court in Lagos has barred Festus Keyamo from further prosecuting Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, for alleged money laundering charges.
The EFCC had charged Mr. Fani-Kayode, in 2008, with 47 counts of money laundering amounting to N500 million.
The judge said that Vitalis Ahaotu, who was appearing for Mr. Keyamo, failed to present the fiat empowering his firm to take up the case on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation.
The judge, however, declined the request by Mr. Fani-Kayode to strike out the charges against him.
Judicial Commission Of Inquiry Into Ado-Odo Crisis Begins Sitting On Monday

The 5 –Man Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the Ado-Odo township crisis, headed by Hon Justice Oluwatosin Elizabeth Osinuga will on Monday begin public sitting at the High Court of Justice, Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital
The commission according statement, by its Media Officer, Mr. Ayokunle Ewuoso stated that it would be sitting on Monday to Wednesday of the week and any other day that may be announced by the chairman.
The commission, the statement further added seeks for the cooperation of the general public in the discharge of its duties, adding that sitting would begin at 10am in the morning.
You will recall that Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun inaugurated the commission on the 8th of May this year after the crisis that engulfed Ado-Odo township on April 14th and 15th, 2013 in which the royal father of the town, the Olofin of Ado-Odo; Oba Abdul Lateef Adeniran Akani’s palace was burnt.
The commission’s terms of reference amongst others include; to identify individuals, groups of person and institutions directly or indirectly responsible for the precipitating the crisis and recommend appropriate punishment
